When Akira Chicago, [technically a “small business” in Chicago but soon to be an American empire, in my opinion] holds its seasonal showcase I have come to expect fun, exciting and as always, first rate.
Akira Chicago, one of the city’s fastest growing fashion staples, never ceases to amaze with their innovative spectacle brought to the runway that showcase not only the newest Akira trends and collections but Chicago’s true urban style. To no surprise, the “Valley of the Castles,” themed Spring 2012 Runway Show was no exception.
Jon Cotay, his partners and his miraculous and talented team of producers, creative directors and of course stylists and models, put on what has quickly become one of the city’s the most anticipated annual spring fashion show’s of the season, at the Chicago Lyric Opera house’s historic venue, the show moves up a notch each time to more SPECTACULAR.
Most of Akira faithful’s audience, many of Chicago’s most fashionable VIP’s and of course the models adorned clothing that featured new chic looks, all Akira Chicago fashioned. Modish denim wear for both men and women were by Kasil Workshop. Men’s wear was ushered by Ben Sherman, Penguin and Scott James. Women’s footwear was seriously displayed on behalf of Jeffrey Campbell, Sam Edelman and Mia. Men’s footwear sported were courtesy of PF-Flyers.
From the bold new colors and meticulously styled looks for the urban crowd, to the trendiest trends for the likes of Akira’s loyal followers and even the mom and daughter fans, Akria’s Spring 2012 was no less than an elite show. It was also right on time with the unseasonable warm weather the area was fortunate enough to experience that week and just what dashing fashion scene craved those very looks for, SPRING!!
Even if you attended the show, you will definitely enjoy the gallery courtesy of one of Chicago’s greatest fashion photographer’s, Dean Paul below!!
