Susan Lucci Comes to Union League Club

SOAP OPERA superstar Susan Lucci, who has brilliantly played the role of Erica Kane on ABC TV’s “All My Children,” was in town to hype her new book “All My Life: A Memoir”.

She spoke to a packed house of many friends, along with Mr. Helmut Huber, Ms Lucci’s husband of 40 years at the Union League Club.

Lucci, who is still a beauty and has been on the show since it debuted in 1971, shared this beauty secret: “Hot water with lemon”! I’m ON IT!!

Horacio's Dynasty

Color, color and MORE color!! That’s exactly what cascaded all around me during Horacio Nieto’s 2011 Fall/Winter fashion show “Mining the Ming Dynasty.”

As soon as the first model strutted down the walk to the beat of mix master DJ Marshall Brown’s selected sounds, I was surrounded by colors. Solid, bold, effervescent and beautiful colors that were prominent on each model that evening. Cocktail dresses, evening gowns and work wear were flawlessly presented during the show.

Also premiered were chunky, but boldly highlighted handbags created by Diego Rocha that hung on each model’s arm like an individual work of art as as she pranced up and down the catwalk. I’m so totally in love with the Tiffany green one, Diego, just so you know…

Sleek, soft and sexy waved manes were created by Valentino Leyva and trend-setting make-up was fashioned by Hernan Rivera of Sin Cosmetics.

Co-hosted by Susanna Negovan of Michigan Avenue Magazine and Marcus Riley of NBC Chicago, the extravaganza at Loft on Lake was not only an explosion of colors but a new plan for the upcoming season.

While sticking to all solid colors, this collection was anything but ordinary. Crisp, structured designs were formed on metallic and satin fabrics to bring the new fall season to its feet.

BRAVO, HORACIO!!! I’ll be calling on you to get fitted soonest!!
