I’m thrilled that Alejandro Sanz’s, by way of Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN), is planning on “stopping by” Chicago’s Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont, IL., on Saturday, July 31st.
Sanz, one of my FAVORITE performers– who I’ve never had the chance to see LIVE, yet, has already completed a tour of Mexico to promote his latest “Paraiso Express” that was released in November 2009. Sanz will then tour his homeland, Spain before beginning his U.S. Tour in July.
Tickets are available NOW via Ticketmaster outlets 1-800-745-3000 or http://www.ticketmaster.com. For more information, please call 312-492-6424.
I ❤ U…ok, what can I say? Honestly, I didn’t expect this show to do much for me and I’m not embarrassed to say that. I was not impressed by the title (it didn’t say much) so I had little info to go on and attended the show on it’s last performance date, with an open mind and hoping for the best.
I had only heard very little about the show. BUT I love comedy and when I sat down and the first sketch began, that was all it took. I was totally captivated — even through sketch comedy, they had me! In the very beginning, the show had me waiting for what was next on the edge of my seat and through my bursts of laughter. I was immediately hooked!
I love comedy and all forms of it. I appreciate the little, local comedians of our great city. WE as Chicagoans KNOW the best of the best have crossed our little stages and have gone on to become enormous legends in comedy so I am so happy say, I LOVED I ❤ U.
It immediately grabbed my interest, went through parts of my personal love life on stage right in front of a sold out audience, all while it poked fun at other not-so-far-fetched situations. It was a TRUE TO LIFE performance and a pleasure to watch.
I ❤ U is a small local production performed at the Chicago Center for Performing Arts this past month. It consists of 5 people; 3 girls and 2 boys. You would never know that some performers were first timers and others have performed for years. Stephanie Leigh Rose, Sarra Jahedi, Maritza Cabrera, Miguel Morales, and Alonzo Alcaraz, each in their own, gave the audience a believable, physical, actual event influenced, and adorable performance, that as show goers put it best, it was a “TRUE DAT” performance. I look forward to what’s next for this talented group of performers. Next time it comes around, I ❤ U it shouldn’t be missed.
Bachata champs Aventura and their fans took over the Allstate Arena on June 16th. The group was welcomed by over 30 thousand adoring fans who knew every word to every song ever performed by the masters of bachata.
Bronx, New Yorkers, Anthony “Romeo” Santos, Lenny Santos, Henry Santos Jeter (no longer sporting his signature braids while some dedicated fans did) and Max Santos, tore the roof off the arena that night. The band played hits off their albumns going back to 1999. This audience didn’t miss a beat as Romeo and the boys showed off their moves and romanced the crowd that evening.
At one point in the show, Romeo was actually putting on the pure “Romeo” anticts as he chatted with the audience and even went so far as to heckle a couple during a performance. The back and forth heckling went so far that afterwards, to make amneds, Romeo in pure gentleman quality, went down and huged both. It was a sweet gesture and a real genuine performance.
Aventura is a show that shouldn’t be missed. It was a fun time, a diverse group of fans that made it a special time and enjoyable concert.
Jazz fusion was all around at Rumba restaurant and nightclub, located in downtown Chicago. Cuban born artist, Alex Cuba created a charming and powerful resonance as he and his band took over the packed house that evening to witness him rock Rumba.
Cuba, who was born in Cuba, debuted his career in 2004 and now lives in Canada with his wife and 3 children. His Facebook page says his newest release is “designed to make you feel good about yourself and what surrounds you. You’ll become 100% positive and look and see the bright side of life”…and it did!! I’m not too familiar with Cuba’s music prior to my checking him out this night at Rumba, nor do I own his current cd titled “Alex Cuba”, but I will be downloading it soon. Tracks were catchy and easy to jam to.
I enjoyed Cuba’s Lenny Kravitz style (except Cuba is a bit shorter) and swagger along with his ability to make the girls go wild and stay in line with the beautiful lyrics he belted out. I especially enjoyed the romantic sounds of Si Pero No. LOVED IT!!! It was truly the sound of Cuba with the jazz inspired and traditional sounds that I do adore in this type of music.
Alex was true hit and the Rumba crowd wanted more!! See you next time you pass through the Chi, Alex!!!
